Private Lessons Instructor
Sean Baker is an active musician and educator in the Cincinnati area. A native of Northwest Ohio, Sean received his bachelor’s in music performance from Bowling Green State University (BGSU) and is currently pursuing his master’s at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. Having spent four years on staff with an area school district, Sean worked with both middle and high school students conducting private lessons, masterclasses, and marching band sectionals and rehearsals. He is also proud to have been on staff with the Detroit Symphony Orchestra’s Civic Youth Ensembles program, working with the foremost students and educators of the greater Detroit area.
An active performer, Sean has participated in a variety of competitions including the internationally recognized Leonard Falcone Euphonium and Tuba Festival (semi-finalist, student division), BGSU Competitions in Music performance (honorable mention), and was a selected performer for the 2019 Electroacoustic Barn Dance festival. With numerous professional auditions under his belt, he is well versed in audition preparation, having been both a semi-finalist and runner-up for bands within the United States Air Force system. When away from his instrument Sean is an avid cyclist. A lover of both cats and traveling, he has worked with internationally renowned artists during his time abroad, in addition to his primary teachers Timothy Northcut and David Saltzman.
Sean provides lessons at Mason High School in the afternoons and evening.
