Bio

Michael Reese is an active music educator in Ohio. He graduated from Marietta College with a Bachelor of Music in Music Education (2017), as well as a minor in Political Science and a certificate in Teacher Leadership. Michael recently received his Masters of Music Education from Ohio University (2023).


Prior to his appointment at Mason Middle School, Michael worked as the Middle School Band Director and Assistant High School Band Director for the Elida Local Schools district in northwest Ohio. During his time at Elida, he worked with band students in grades 5-12, established a junior jazz band, and participated in and hosted a variety of OMEA events, including the District 3 Junior High Festival.


Outside of his public school teaching career, Michael has extensive experience in the marching arts. He currently serves as the Co-Director and Front Ensemble Coordinator for the WGI Percussion Independent World finalist ensemble ConneXus and as a Front Ensemble Instructor with the Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps. During his performing years, Michael marched with Legends Drum and Bugle Corps (2014), Cap City Percussion (2014-2015), Madison Scouts Drum and Bugle Corps (2015-2016) and Rhythm X (2016-2017).
