Background Checks
Background Checks
Background checks are required for many of our volunteers. You will need to first determine what type of Background Check is required for your role.

Instant Checks
Mason Band Volunteers in Photo Corps, Pit Crew, Uniform Crew, and Guard are required to have Instant Background Checks (Level II) at a minimum. (In some cases, volunteers in these areas may need an Extended Check - see below.)
Instant Checks are good are good for 5 years. Please fill out this form: Level II: Volunteer background check request
Cost: $18 through Payschoolscentral or cash/check can be sent in to central office (address below) or your student’s building as payment. Form will not be processed until payment is received. Payschoolscentral will expedite the entire process.
Extended Checks
Extended Checks (Level III) are required for our Mason Band Boosters Board of Directors and Band Aids. Additionally, Chaperones who travel and serve on overnight trips also are required to have Extended Background Checks. (Chaperones who plan to volunteer only for rehearsal shifts on school grounds may be ok with an Instant check.)
In addition, anyone who might work with students outside of director supervision must have an extended background check. This could include some members of Uniform Crew, Pt Crew, and Guard Volunteers.
