Congratulations To Our Marching Band!

Congratulations to all marching band students and their families on an incredible weekend at BOA Grand Nationals. For the 11th time in school history, the marching band advanced to finals and finished in the top 6 bands in the country after semi finals. The band finished in 6th place and was also awarded the “Albert J Castronovo Esprit de Corp” Award. The group that most exhibits pride, spirit, enthusiasm, friendliness, camaraderie, and unity of purpose for the marching band activity is selected to receive the award. What an incredible honor that truly shows that our marching band students and families excel both on and off the field!

Mandatory Rose Parade Meeting

Marching Band families, please plan on attending a mandatory Rose Parade travel meeting on December 6th at 7:30pm. The meeting will take place in the High School Large Commons. We are requesting that at least one parent or guardian, and their student, be present. Important details regarding our trip to California will be shared.

If you arrive at the school prior to 7:15pm, you will need to enter the school through the music wing doors at the back of the school. After 7:15pm, you may enter through the front doors by the natatorium.

Rose Parade Flight Confirmations

For everyone joining the trip with a Bob Rogers Travel package that includes air travel, flights have been confirmed for both the Friends & Family and Student trips. Bob Rogers Travel sent details via email with specific flight numbers and travel times. You can log into the BRT travel portal to view those details as well. A few important points which we will discuss at the Dec 7th meeting:

Everyone traveling on a charter flight will also travel by charter bus together from Mason High School to CVG and vice versa on the return. The charter flights are only 1 hour apart, so we will arrive/depart the airports together in one group.

For families traveling with the Friends & Family Fans package, those flights have 1 stop each, so based on your assigned flight schedule, families will need to make plans to get their student to MHS at 6:00am for departure on Dec 27th or to pick up their student at MHS upon arrival on Jan 2nd ~8:00 pm. We hope most can make their own plan with help from family or friends, but if anyone needs help to find a solution, please send a message to parade@masonbandboosters.com.

Senior Banners

We will be removing the senior banners from the stadium fence on Tuesday, November 14 and distributing them to seniors or senior parents on Thursday, November 16 after rehearsal. Please see Mrs. Siedlecki or Mrs. Riley at the Band-Aid tent for your banner!

Marching Band Awards-Save The Date!

This year due to the extended marching band season, the awards ceremony/celebration will take place the evening of January 16th rather than in November. More details will be shared closer to the date.

Send Off And Music Hallway Decorations

If students want to take their own note off of the "Masterpiece" decoration in the music hallway at school, they are welcome to do so. The decoration will stay up for the next week to give everyone that wants it, a chance to collect it.

Plus, we still have a few personal posters to distribute for families that were not able to attend the send-offs. If you know that you have a poster to collect, please email Gina at spirit@masonbandboosters.com to arrange a time to collect it.

Rose Parade Spirit Wear Available

Rose Parade Spirit Wear is available for purchase from OCD Unlimited. Spirit Wear is available to students, family and friends and is able to be personalized. ATTENTION Class of 2024 Parents

We would like to recognize each of the seniors at our Marching Band Awards Ceremony tentatively planned for Tuesday, January 16, 2024. If you have attended this celebration in the past, you know that we like to put together a slide show of pictures submitted by each senior’s family. The family keeps the picture choices a secret from their student until the big night. So how can you help us? Please start picking out your favorite pictures, usually about 3-4 pictures from infancy to now. Please scan and email them to: seniors@masonbandboosters.com

Be sure to include the name of your student.
