NEW INFORMATION
WELCOME MRS KLINGENBERG!
Welcome our newest Mason Band Director, Mrs. Amanda Klingenberg! Mrs. Klingenberg will be joining the team as a middle school band director, with a woodwind focus. She will team teach all the seventh and eighth grade bands with Mr. Rex and Mr. Reese. Mrs. Klingenberg will also be joining the marching band woodwind director staff with Mr. Hinson at MHS.
Before coming to Mason, Mrs. Klingenberg was active as a band director for Leander Independent School District in Central Texas. Amanda helped open and build the band program at Danielson Middle School and served as one of the directors at Canyon Ridge Middle School, who in 2017 received the Sudler Cup from the John Philip Sousa Foundation.

COLOR GUARD & PERCUSSION CAMP THIS WEEK
Color Guard and Percussion Camp is this week from Tuesday, June 20 to Friday, June 23 at the High School. Please be sure to have sunscreen, hat, weather appropriate clothing, and a full water bottle! We will balance the time between inside and outside depending on the weather. During the dinner break from 4pm-6pm, students must leave campus.

- 1pm-4pm Rehearsal
- 4pm-6pm Dinner Break. Leave Campus!
- 6pm-9pm Rehearsal
What To Bring
Dress for the warm weather! Bring a big gallon water bottle, sunglasses, hat, sunscreen, athletic shoes, athletic shorts, tshirt, and snacks.
Where To Park
Special request from the school facility department: When parking, dropping off, or picking up on campus this week, please avoid any lots that are roped off. A contractor will possibly close different parking lots each day of camp in order to complete their pavement project. We appreciate your cooperation to allow them to improve our parking lots for this upcoming school year!
LEADERSHIP TEAM RETREAT REGISTRATION AND INFORMATION
Attention Marching Band Student Leaders: The Student Leadership Retreat will be at Miami University in Oxford, OH on Monday, July 17, 2023. This retreat is optional but STRONGLY ENCOURAGED for all of our leaders for 2023. Tentative itinerary is as follows:

In order to confirm your spot at the retreat, we are asking each student to register and pay $30. The Registration form is below. PLEASE BE SURE TO READ EVERYTHING AS THE FORM LISTS WHAT YOU ARE REQUIRED TO BRING WITH YOU AND HOW YOU SHOULD DRESS! We will follow up a few days before with any rain plans and specific attire needed based on the weather if needed. There are three very important forms and permissions we need you to complete and upload to the registration form. We advise you to print, sign and scan/take photo BEFORE you complete the form so you can be ready to upload.
- MCS Permission/Waiver - Sign and Upload - Only ONE Parent Signature required.
- Miami University Permission/Waiver - Sign and Upload. Only ONE Parent signature required! Please be sure to note Student’ Name where indicated in release section on 2nd page.
- Transportation acknowledgement and waiver (embedded in the Jotform. Just answer the questions as appropriate).
Leadership Retreat registration form must be completed and paid by MIDNIGHT, THURSDAY, JULY 13TH!

REMINDERS
INTERESTED IN BECOMING A STUDENT RACK CAPTAIN?
Calling all Sophomore, Junior, and Senior Marching Band members:
The Uniform Crew is now seeking students to serve as Rack Captains! Rack Captains are essential student leaders who assist the Uniform Crew to make sure each marcher is dressed correctly when in uniform and that uniforms are stored properly after every performance. Many Rack Captains also assist the U-Crew by helping with uniform fittings, teaching new marchers proper storage of uniform pieces, and many other tasks regarding marching band uniforms. If interested, please fill out the Rack Captain Application by Midnight on July 16, 2023. Email uniforms@masonbandboosters.com with any questions.
BAND CAMP T-SHIRTS AVAILABLE NOW!
Order your band camp t-shirts today! To place your order and for more information please go to the Friday Threads website found HERE. Orders must be placed by June 29, 2023 at Midnight. The T-shirts are optional for students but are useful on the rehearsal nights the band directors request the students to wear white T-shirts.
