Rose Parade Meeting

Mandatory Rose Parade Meeting-December 6th

Marching Band families, please plan on attending a mandatory Rose Parade travel meeting on December 6th at 7:30pm.  The meeting will take place in the High School Auditorium. We are requesting that at least one parent or guardian, and their student, be present. Important details regarding our trip to California will be shared.

***IMPORTANT*** If you arrive at the school prior to 7:15pm, you will need to enter the school through the music wing doors at the back of the school. After 7:15pm, you may enter through the front doors by the natatorium.

Senior Banner

Senior Banners

The remaining Senior banners will be available for pick up during the Rose Parade mandatory meeting.  Please contact seniors@masonbandboosters.com if you have any questions.

Group Photos

Group Photo Pick Up

If you ordered panoramic all-band photos, section photos, senior periodic table photos, or accordion books, these will be available for pick up at 7:15 before the Rose Parade mandatory meeting.

IMPORTANT: You must sign up by Monday, December 4 to pick up a framed photo! https://forms.gle/PK6e9oKRq1nNQJ6s8

This is because the framed photos are fragile and we want to transport them as little as possible. We have no space to store framed photos that aren’t picked up, so we won’t bring your photo if you aren’t planning to be at the meeting. If you can’t remember if you ordered your photo framed or unframed, just sign up to let us know you are coming.

This will be the only scheduled pick up before the holiday break. If you are unable to pick up your photos or find anyone to do so for you, there will be one more pick up opportunity at the Awards Ceremony, January 16.

Medication drop off

Rose Parade Medication Drop-Off

If your student will need medication for the Rose Parade trip(OTC or Rx) that has not already been turned in, please sign up for your preferred drop off date/time using one of the links below. The drop off will be in the staff dining room of the High School.  Please enter through the back doors that enter into the band wing.

Please read the Medication Policy in advance. You will need to prepare your student’s medication with a completed med insert card placed in a ziploc bag with their medication following the instructions in our Medication Check-in Guide.  You will find all the latest information about how we manage medication on MasonBands.com here

Remember to upload DMS forms here prior to the drop-off event. Must be signed by both the medication provider and parent.

We also strongly encourage you to fill out DMS forms for Ibuprofen, Tylenol, and Benadryl if your student has ever taken those medications in the past. We will not be able to dispense those medications to your student unless the proper forms have been filled out and signed. Please note that students may not carry any medications themselves, including common over the counter medications, unless they are emergency medications and the appropriate forms have been submitted.

For questions or to schedule an alternate drop off appointment, email Lisa Oldham - medicalsecretary@masonbandboosters.com or Mike McCallister - registration@masonbandboosters.com

Flight information

Rose Parade Flight Confirmations

For everyone joining the trip with a Bob Rogers Travel package that includes air travel, flights have been confirmed for both the Friends & Family and Student trips. Bob Rogers Travel sent details via email with specific flight numbers and travel times. You can log into the BRT travel portal to view those details as well. A few important points which we will discuss at the Dec 6th meeting:

  • Everyone traveling on a charter flight will also travel by charter bus together from Mason High School to CVG and vice versa on the return. The charter flights are only 1 hour apart, so we will arrive/depart the airports together in one group.

For families traveling with the Friends & Family Fans package, those flights have 1 stop each, so based on your assigned flight schedule, families will need to make plans to get their student to MHS at 6:00am for departure on Dec 27th or to pick up their student at MHS upon arrival on Jan 2nd ~8:00 pm. We hope most can make their own plan with help from family or friends, but if anyone needs help to find a solution, please send a message to parade@masonbandboosters.com.
