Band Notes for the Week of September 11th, 2017

This Saturday the Photo Committee will be taking the annual panoramic picture. We ask that no other photographers be on the field or in the stands during this time.

Panoramic photos are available for purchase. The order form is available on our website: https://www.masonbands.com/pages/boosters/default/16/. All other photos taken, such as senior group shots and section group shots, will be posted to Smugmug.

Toledo Medication Drop Off

If your student will need prescription or over the counter medication during our trip to Toledo, please sign up in Charms for an appointment to meet with a Band Aid to drop off medication. If you have previously turned in medication and there are no changes, you do not need to sign up again, we will bring all medication on the trip.

Medication Drop Off will be Saturday Sept 16, 2017 from 1:00-2:00 p.m. (sign up in Charms)

Please remember you must have a completed DMS form for each medication and the DMS form must have both a doctor’s and parent’s signature. Please refer to the ‘Optional Medical Forms’ section of the Mason Bands website at this link for forms and information:http://masonbands.com/pages/courses/default/11/.

If you want to provide access to ibuprofen or acetaminophen for your student, we only need a completed DMS form with parent and doctor’s signatures. These two medications will be available from our central supply for any student with a completed DMS on file. Please consider making one of these medications available if your student has ever needed it in the past. Our trip to Toledo will be a very long day and if your student should need one of these medications but we do not have the forms on file, we will not be able to give it.

As always, please make a copy of your student’s forms for your records before your turn them in.

6:00 am - arrive and load at MHS

6:30 am - depart Mason

9:30 am - arrive at Springfield HS

1:30 pm - depart Springfield HS

2:00 pm - arrive at University of Toledo

4:15 pm - Prelims Performance

7:30 pm - arrive back to University of Toledo

9:00 pm - Finals begin

10:30 pm - Finals Awards

11:45 pm - depart Toledo for Mason

3:00 am - arrive at MHS

Home Football Game Concessions

Volunteer positions are now in Charms for Friday night football concessions. We are especially in need of volunteers for the Homecoming and Senior Night games. As a reminder, each family is required to volunteer for two positions during the season.

We are also looking for people interested in being a part of the concessions team. If interested, or if you have any questions about concessions, please email Janice Anello at fundraising@masonbandboosters.com.

Chaperone Help Needed

Check out Charms for signups for both home and away football games. We have a lot of fun at these games so please join us. A current background check is required to sign up. If you want to become a Chaperone, and we REALLY need you, please contact Jane Johnson at Mason City Schools, (513) 398-0474 ext #20143.

We are in desperate need of Chaperones who can go on overnight trips like Toledo and Grand Nationals in Indianapolis.

Attention Seamstresses and Pinterest Enthusiasts!

Do you like to sew and craft? The Spirit Committee needs your help to make spirit flags for this year’s show. Spirit flags will match the theme of the show and be available for purchase by anyone who wants to show their Mason Marching Band Spirit. Parents like to wave them in the stands and students like to have a flag from each year they participate in marching band as a souvenir of that year’s show.
