Band Notes for the week of February 5th, 2018

The decision has been made to cancel this Thursday’s Parent Meeting and Committee Chair Meeting, so that everyone has the opportunity to attend the discussion about the Suicide Prevention Outreach Program the district expects to launch next year at the High School.

We will attempt to reschedule these meetings, and will communicate this in upcoming emails.

Cincinnati Regional Concert Band Festival: March 3

Mason Band Boosters is hosting the 2nd annual Cincinnati Regional Concert Band Festival. The festival is affiliated with Music for All and is an opportunity for High School and Middle School concert bands to perform for and be evaluated by highly esteemed music educators. Thirty bands from around the region will attend this event on March 3, including a feature performance from the Bowling Green State University Wind Symphony.

Of course, we can't pull off an event like this without your help! Sign-ups are live in Charms now! We need your help with tasks such as parking, concessions, ticket sales, ushers, band guides, hospitality, food donations and more. Last year was a huge success thanks to all of our volunteers -- please consider helping us again! Any questions can be directed to musicfestival@masonbandboosters.com.

Winter Guard Notes

MHS Varsity and JV attended the MEPA (Mid East Performance Association) circuit competition at Miamisburg on Saturday. Varsity competed in the Scholastic Regional AA classification and earned 1st place and the JV competed in the Scholastic Regional A and earned 3rd place. Congratulations to both teams on a terrific competition!

This Saturday, February 10th MHS teams will be competing at Fairfield (MEPA). MHS JV is scheduled at 3:59pm and the Varsity at 5:09pm. Find more details and directions at https://mepa-circuit.org/event/fairfield-high-school/.
