NEW INFORMATION

Coffee Talk

First New Member Coffee Talk This Tuesday!

All new member parents are invited to attend our first New Member Coffee Talk this Tuesday, August 22nd at 7pm in the HS staff Dining Room.  This will be an informal opportunity to socialize with other new parents and have your questions answered by seasoned band parent mentors. If that doesn’t entice you, perhaps some coffee and some treats will. Please enter the High School through the music wing doors found at the back of the High School. You will walk straight and the dining room will be on your right hand side. We will have signs to direct you.  We hope to see you there!

Charms Outage

Charms System Maintenance

Charms will be down later this week. The scheduled outage will be taking place beginning Saturday, August 26th at 12am. Charms will be conducting required server maintenance activities and anticipate the outage to conclude at 3pm on Saturday. You will be unable to access Charms during that time.

Over the counter meds

Please Remember To Turn In Forms For OTC Medication

Did you know that our Band Aids maintain a central supply of Acetaminophen, Ibuprofen, and Benadryl for students to take if needed during practice? We refer to these as “Central OTC (over the counter) Meds”. We have noticed many students requesting these medications during practice who do not have the proper forms on file to allow us to provide the medications to them. When the forms are not on file we are unable to provide your student with a little bit of relief for muscle pain, headaches, and other minor discomforts.  We recommend submitting DMS forms for Central OTC Meds if your student has ever needed one of these medications in the past. This is especially helpful to students during long practices and overnight trips. Please follow the below steps, if you have not already done so, to make sure your child can have the medications they may need.

  • Please fill out the appropriate Dispensing Medication at School (DMS) Forms found HERE.  A doctor’s signature is required.
  • Upload all completed DMS forms HERE. For tips on how to download the forms please click here.
  • Only submit the DMS forms your student needs; you do not need to submit multiple forms with different dosages for the same medication.
  • Forms must be signed by both a physician and a parent.

For additional details, please refer to the Mason Band Medication Policy found HERE

yellow jacket

Unwelcome Visitors - Please Prepare

Apparently yellow jackets love to listen to our kiddos play this year. We have seen many yellow jackets both at the bus circle and up at the stadium.  Unfortunately we have needed to treat multiple stings at our band aid station.  What can you do to help protect yourself? All students may want to consider packing bug spray as part of their daily band supplies. We also highly recommend that all parents fill out a DMS form for Benadryl if your child is allergic to yellow jackets/bees or has never been stung before.  If your child has a known allergy and needs to have an Epipen, please make sure you fill out the appropriate paperwork and make arrangements with our medical secretary to have it dropped off for us to have. You can contact our medical secretary at medicalsecretary@masonbandboosters.com. Please also be sure not to swat at or get overly excited if you unfortunately encounter one of our tiny guests. You are less likely to get stung if you stay still and remain calm. Remember they are just as scared of us as we are of them. Unfortunately this seems to be a common issue throughout Mason this year so a little preparation can be a big help.

Please upload DMS forms HERE
