Andrew Jeng
Andrew Jeng is a Taiwanese trumpeter and active orchestral musician based in Cincinnati. He appears regularly with major ensembles including the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, ProMusica Chamber Orchestra, Columbus Symphony Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic, and the Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra. From 2019–2020 he served as Associate Principal Trumpet of the Hangzhou Philharmonic Orchestra in China. Festival appearances include Spoleto Festival USA, Crested Butte Festival, and has also performed as an extra trumpet with the Music Academy of the West.
Known for a blend of technical precision, musical sensitivity, and collaborative leadership, Andrew brings dedication and clarity to both the concert stage and the teaching studio. He balances performance with a strong commitment to teaching, maintaining a private studio in the greater Cincinnati area and offering trumpet coaching for students of all levels.
Andrew is pursuing a Doctor of Musical Arts (DMA) in Trumpet Performance at the University of Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music on full scholarship. He holds a Master of Music from The Juilliard School, where he studied primarily with Mark Gould and Raymond Mase and was awarded the W. J. Henderson Scholarship and the Irene Diamond Fellowship. He earned a Bachelor of Music from Oberlin Conservatory, studying with Roy Poper and receiving the James Stamps Award for exceptional performance upon graduation.
