Awards Night

Marching Band Awards Night Thank Yous and Links

Many thanks to Laura Minniear, Jacquie Wray, and the amazing crew who assisted with the awards on Tuesday. Events like this truly take a village to organize and execute.

Thank you to OfficeDepot, Titan Awards, the UPS Store, and Bodey Sales for continuing to be so great at working with us on certificates, plaques, programs, and varsity letters and pins.

Jacquie Wray for creating the beautiful program. What a wonderful keepsake!

Lauren Carson, thanks for putting together the season slideshow so we can all go down memory lane of our fun season.

Photo Crew, thank you for documenting the evening by taking incredible photos.

Kaja Harper, you did a fantastic job with the Senior Slideshow! It was fun to see our seniors when they were little and to see the wonderful young adults they have become today.

Tiffany Williams and Tyler Buckner, I appreciate you passing out the awards and keeping things moving along.

Michelle Andre and Laura Deardorff, your balloon stands and decorations were fantastic. They made for a great photo opportunity. We so appreciate you leading Spirit this year!

A special thanks to all of the parents who donated desserts and water for the evening. The special treats made the night feel extra special.

Huge thanks to the wonderful group who spent their Monday evening assembling packets: Lori Ulsh, Michelle Andre, Jacquie Wray, Chris Minniear, Kristen Robiglio, and Jamie Morton.

To the following parents and students who helped with set up and/or clean up and serving: Marianne Bakos, Jacquie Wray, Laura Deardorff, Mike McCarthy, Amanda Hrenko, Michelle Andre, Meghan Smith, Eli Smith, Smita Ankola, Gwen Kennedy, Jamie Morton, Erin Rohn, Chris Minniear, Heather Smith, and anyone else who I may have inadvertently missed.  (Apologies I didn't get to talk to some of you.) Thank You!! Many hands make light work.

We also appreciate the Mason City Schools administration who support all of our endeavors and the facilities staff who assisted with making sure we had all the equipment and space we needed for the evening. Shout out in particular to Jenni Schmeichel (facilities manager), Katie Turfan (tech support), and the custodial staff.

Band directors and staff, thanks for recognizing the hard work of our students. It was a night to recognize our students, but please know how much we appreciate the hard work, dedication, and opportunities you have provided us this past year.

Thanks to all the parents, friends, and extended family who came out to support and celebrate our band students. Lastly, thanks to the students for giving us an unforgettable season!

CommUNITY

CommUNITY Holiday Help needs your help!

We are in need of volunteers to help our food insecure families select the best gift for their Mason City School Students this holiday season.  Volunteering on this Friday and Saturday is a great way to help our MCS students have a blessed holiday.

We really need help with the MORNING 7 AM Friday and 7:30 AM Saturday shifts as we consistently have a line of parents/guardians waiting to get in as they are fearful that they will not be able to select something for their student.  We see this with the lines that develop for our Comet Cupboard Dorothy Lane Market perishable food cupboards that we host twice a week.  Some families have told us that they plan to be at the school on Friday morning at 6:45 AM.

We love your heart and would love to have your help this holiday season:  https://www.signupgenius.com/go/10C044DAAAC2FA2F9C34-60343597-community#/

If you are unable to serve with us these 2 days, we appreciate your financial support to ensure that we can provide for our students. Last year we served 899 Mason City School Students.  This year we will serve over 1,100 MCS students:   https://givebutter.com/CommUNITYHolidayHelp2 or you can text MCSHoliday to 53555 to donate.
