NEW INFORMATION
Mason High School Performing Arts Presents:
Sister Act
Mason High School Theatre is proud to present the feel-good musical comedy Sister Act, based on the beloved 1992 film. When disco diva Deloris Van Cartier witnesses a murder, she is placed in protective custody in the one place the cops are sure she won’t be found: a convent! Disguised as a nun, she finds herself at odds with the rigid lifestyle and the uptight Mother Superior. But Deloris uses her unique disco moves and powerhouse voice to transform the struggling choir, breathing new life into the church and community. Filled with powerful gospel music, outrageous dancing, and a moving story of unexpected friendship, Sister Act is a tribute to the universal power of sisterhood.
Performances will be held at the Mason High School Auditorium, 6100 Mason Montgomery Road, Mason, OH 45040:
- Thursday, April 23 – 7:00 PM
- Friday, April 24 – 7:00 PM
- Saturday, April 25 – 7:00 PM
- Sunday, April 26 – 2:00 PM (Matinee)
Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for students, children, and seniors. Tickets are available at the door and online at: https://cur8.com/39874/project/137646

Winter Guard Spring Recital
Congratulations to all of our Winter Guard groups for their outstanding performances at the Spring Recital!
Our Winter Guard Performance Ensemble, 7th Grade Winter Guard, and 5th & 6th Grade Winter Guard combined for beautiful performance of their program “We All Wear Crowns”.
Competitive Winter Guard presented a stunning encore performance of their program “Come On, Dream On!”
We are so proud of all you accomplished!
Recital Night
Congratulations to everyone that participated in concert band Recital Night! Be sure to see a band director if you haven’t received your Certificate or your Comment Sheet from the Adjudicator. Be sure to take your comment sheet to your next lesson with your lessons teacher, as they like to review these with you.
Thank You After Prom Volunteers!
Once again, the Band’s Tattoo Parlor during After Prom was a huge hit! Thanks to everyone who helped provide a fun and safe event for our kids. Special thanks to Julie Chaney, who planned and designed the band’s portion of After Prom. We are very grateful she continues to serve so amazingly in this role!
Thank you to the set up crew, Sally McDonald, Tina Pedersen, Ann Wiesman, and Meghan Smith - you did a fantastic job bringing Dinosaur Valley to life for our Tattoo Parlour! - Alison Adduci, Julia Zhu, Linda Cook, Lee Chaney, Rachel Rose, Lauren Norfleet, Laura Deardorff, Tyler Bucker, Jacquie Wray, Kristi Cetti, Smita Ankola, Chris Minniear, Jamie Morton, Yira Munoz, and Laura Minniear - thank you for staying up late with our kids when you could have just as easily stayed home. (Apologies to anyone I may have missed.) The smiles on the faces of the students throughout the night spoke volumes as to how much you were appreciated. We hope today you were all able to get some much deserved rest. Thank you also to all our Band families who helped out at other areas of After Prom - we appreciate everyone who stepped up to answer the call for volunteers!
We also appreciate those of you who donated the temporary tattoos.
Thanks to all of the students who stopped by our area. We enjoyed getting to spend a little time with you which made our evening a lot of fun.
Got an Instrument You’re No Longer Using?
It's that time of year where our next class of Mason Band families will be pricing out instrument rentals for their beginners. Some of our MI Band families prefer to buy quality used instruments of our Mason recommended brands instead of renting. If you have a used student model instrument sitting around collecting dust that you are looking to sell or donate, please send Mr. Rex an email. Thank you!
MB 2026 Student Leadership Application
Students who are interested in applying to be a student leader (section leader, captain) should complete the Leadership Application by Friday, April 24.
MB 2026 BR/WW New Member Marching Clinics
To help prepare for Mini Camp in May, there are five clinics to help our new members learn the basics of marching and movement. We will learn physical warm ups, stretches, strength exercises, and marching techniques. This will help them as they transition into the first Full Band experience at Mini Camp. Students are encouraged to attend all sessions if possible!
MB 2026 BR/WW Veteran Movement Clinics
These three movement clinics are designed to brush off the cobwebs, reconnect with your section, and get moving before our first full band rehearsals at Mini Camp. There will be a combination of reviewing old things and learning new movement skills! This is for Brass/Woodwind students who have previously participated in marching band.
Senior Banner Photos and Senior Products
Class of 2027, it’s time to schedule your senior banner portrait appointment! Every year, we celebrate all our seniors with banners on the stadium fence all season. This year’s portraits will start right after the first session of Mini Band Camp, Tuesday, May 26.
(For some students, now is a good time to decide if you want to let your hair revert to its natural color or if you are going for a statement look. You can look amazing either way, but let it be a deliberate choice with no regrets.)
Some kids want to get photos done ASAP and go home, and others may want to run home quickly to freshen up. If the timing of the appointment is important to you, schedule now.
Scheduling deadline is May 19.

REMINDERS
April Booster Meeting This Tuesday

Cont;nue - Jacob Langbein Foundation Shirt
The Langbein family is beyond honored that Keegan Synan and Daniel Goldcamp, seniors at Mason Mason City Schools, have chosen the Jacob Langbein memorial fund as the group to support and raise funds for as part of their capstone project for the Hope Squad! The Jacob Langbein memorial was created after Jake died by suicide in May 2021. The memorial is partnered with the Mason Bands to provide mental health training to students, staff and chaperones as well as scholarships to students in the Marching Band because marching band helped Jake thru some tough times in high school. We'd love for you to purchase a shirt, talk about Jake when you wear it and help raise awareness for mental health and suicide awareness.

MB Instrumentalist Uniform Sizings – Sign Up on BoosterHub
It is time for Marching Band Competition Uniform Sizing for instrumentalists! This allows us to get everyone’s current size to order Competition Uniforms, as it takes some time to get them in. All instrumental marching band members (not color guard) who intend to march in the fall must come in to get sized. Please sign up on BoosterHub for a volunteer slot using the link below (you aren’t volunteering, just signing for your time slot). If parents sign up their marcher, please put the marcher’s name in the comments. There will be samples of summer uniforms, shoes, and jackets to try on that day to help parents know what sizes to order for consumable items.
Sign up on BoosterHub:
- Freshmen: Saturday, April 25 - 9:00am–1:00pm
- Upperclassmen: April 22, 23 - 5:30–8:30pm
Fittings will be in the high school in the guitar room - enter in the band entrance at the back of the high school and walk straight down the hall. You’ll find us in a room on the left.
Color Guard uniform sizings and fittings will be done separately. Look for information coming soon.
Please contact the Uniform Crew at uniforms@masonbandboosters.com if you have any questions or concerns.
Note: There also will be two marching fittings in the fall - one for Classic uniforms, and one for Competition uniforms. During the fall fittings, marchers will try on the actual uniform pieces for fit and adjustment.
