THURSDAY REHEARSAL TIME CHANGE

Due to the College Fair Night hosted at the high school, we have changed Thursday’s rehearsal time to relieve the conflict.

 

Video/Social Media Reminder

We are so proud of the marching band’s first two football game performances! As a reminder, please do not post any videos of the band on public websites (YouTube) or social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) at this time. This also includes pictures of the props. This is particularly important for our competition show in order to maintain competitive integrity and for copyright reasons. We want the audience and judges to see our show for the first time at competitions, so that they can enjoy the hard work of our students in a live setting. You are more than welcome to capture your own videos and share with family using a “private” link or message.

 

Friday Night Plan

Pre-game Meal 9/13---Tahona Kitchen Taco Bar

We are very grateful Tahona Kitchen is sponsoring this Friday's Pre-Game meal.  Students and staff will be treated to a terrific taco bar with all the fixings.  Vegetarian and Gluten-Free options will be available on the buffet.   Students will eat following rehearsal at 5:00 pm in the Large Commons. Thank you Tahona!  

 

Chaperone Request

Chaperones for Away Game Volunteer Pep Band 9/20

Chaperones, we need your help for the first Volunteer Pep Band coming up 9/20.  Travel with the band and have fun cheering on the Comets at their first away game. Sign ups are live in Charms.

 

Saturday, Sept 14 Schedule

PARADE, PICTURES, REHEARSAL

8:00AM-8:45AM Band Room Open to retrieve instruments/equipment

9:00AM Report to warm up zone (sent via Remind). Downtown Mason. Park at St. Susanna and walk.

10:00 AM PARADE STARTS

10:30AM  Band returns to High School from Parade (approx)

10:30-10:45AM  Guard reports to stadium for their Group shot

10:30-11:00AM  Band students change into uniforms and proceed to stadium

10:45-11:00AM Guard students get  their individual shots taken

11:30-11:45AM Full Band Panoramic Shot is taken.

11:45-12:15PM After Pano, Seniors move to Senior Group Shot area (center field) Underclassmen follow signs on field for their individual shots.  Unofficial and fun section group shots are taken in each group after senior group shot is completed.  Each section will be called to center field for Official group section photo then released to finish up individual shots if incomplete or dismissed back to high school.

12:15-12:30PM Head back to school to put away uniform

12:30-1:30PM LUNCH BREAK (may be modified slightly based on actual end time of pictures)

1:30-6:00PM Rehearsal

 

Medication Drop Off for OSU Invitational

If your student will need medication for the upcoming trip to the Buckeye Invitational, please sign up for a time to drop off medication using the google form below. Medication Drop Off will be in the Staff Dining Lounge on these dates:

  • Saturday Sept 21 from 1:00 - 2:00 pm

  • Wednesday Sept 25 from 6:30-7:00 pm

Please note these important reminders:

  1. If you have already turned in as-needed medication, we will bring that with us on the trip. 

  2. If you have turned in scheduled medication (taken at specific times during the day), you must reconfirm if that medication still need to be administered by filling out the google form.

  3. If your student needs Central OTC medication (Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Benadryl), you can send a completed DMS form signed by a physician and parent electronically to medicalsecretary@masonbandboosters.com.

Finance Table 

Every Thursday evening, between 8:00 pm and 9:00 pm, a finance table will be set up near practice for our families to make trip payments, or turn in car raffle tickets.

*Note: This Thursday, the Finance Table will be available 5:45pm-6:00pm.

 

Lincoln Test Drive 

Thank you to all the parents who test drove and invited friends.  It was a great turnout with a count of 200 drivers!  Stay tuned, amount earned will be posted when Lincoln finalizes results.

 

Panoramic and Section Photos

Be sure to order you panoramic and section photos from now until September 15, 2019 at www.masonmarchingphotos.com The panoramic photos is a great way to remember the season.

 

Message from the Uniform Crew

Returning marchers please bring in your marching shoes! Anyone who hasn’t brought in socks, please bring those as well!

 

Seniors: after group pictures on Saturday your Classic Uniform shirts and vests will be removed from your uniform bags and returned to stock UNLESS you tell us you want them for further photos!! If there’s any chance you may want your Classic Uniform for your band portrait OR your senior pictures YOU MUST EMAIL US THIS WEEK OR YOUR UNIFORM WILL BE PARTIALLY DECONSTRUCTED NEXT WEEKEND.

Lincoln Nautilus Car Raffle
