Medication for Mini Band Camp

DMS forms and medication turned into Mason Bands for the 18/19 school year are valid through Mini-Band Camp. At the conclusion of Mini-Band Camp, you must pick up your student's medication submitted for 18/19. You can pick up your student's medication at the Band Aid station on the last day of Mini-Band Camp. Medication that has not been picked up by June 1st will be discarded.

 

New DMS forms for 19/20 are valid at the beginning of Mini-Band Camp and will be valid throughout the 19/20 school year (unless otherwise noted on the DMS form). DMS forms for 19/20 Central OTC medication (Ibuprofen, Acetaminophen, Benadryl) can be sent in electronically to medicalsecretary@masonbands.com at anytime. 2019-20 Chaperones and Band Aids

We welcome new and returning parents to join our team!  Come enjoy sideline seats at football games, behind-the-scenes experiences at rehearsals and caring for the best students around while we travel.  

 

To be a Chaperone or Band Aid, each year everyone has to complete a few training steps, including background checks to ensure we are in compliance with the district and equipped to provide students with the best care.  Our annual training dates have been scheduled below.  Mental health training will also be offered for all later this summer.

 

What is Required to Become a Band Aid and Approved Chaperone? Parent volunteers interested in becoming a Band Aid must be hired by Mason City Schools and approved by the MCS School Board to serve as a Band Aid. Approved Chaperones are not required to complete the hiring process but must have a background check on file with MCS.

We are offering two annual  training opportunities.   Both new and returning chaperones/bands should plan to attend 1 of the 2 sessions (the content is the same in the both).

Chaperone/Band Aids for Mini-Camp 2019

Sign-ups are live for Mini-Band Camp.   If you were an approved Chaperone/Band Aid for 2018-19, your training is valid through Mini-Camp.   For new chaperones, if you attend the 5/22/19 training and we have received confirmation that you have   a current background check on file with the district, you may volunteer.   

 

There will be many opportunities to serve this summer with Percussion and Guard Camp, Band Camp and extended rehearsals.   Complete the interest survey to opt-in to our Chaperone network!

 

Reminder: Photo Committee Meeting

If you are interested in joining the Photo Committee, there will be a Photo Committee organization meeting on Tuesday, May 21st at 7:00 pm in the Athletic Office room F110 (please park in the band lot and walk north to the Athletic Office entrance and through door C4).  Please RSVP and send any questions to Lisa Clabbers at photo@masonbandboosters.com .
