JAZZ NIGHT INFO! 

Great news! Jazz Night 2021 will offer a live in person performance opportunity for students and families. The 2021 Jazz Band Concert will be held on April 9th in the Mason High School Auditorium and will feature MMS 7th & 8th Grade Jazz Bands and MHS Jazz Bands 1 & 2. For many of these students, this will be their 1st performance in front of an audience in more than a year! The event will feature 2 performances:

 

        Concert 1 6:30-7:30 pm MMS 7th Grade Jazz Band & MHS Jazz Band 2

        Concert 2 8:15-9:15 pm MMS 8th Grade Jazz Band & MHS Jazz Band 1

 

As part of our COVID-19 safety protocol, we are limiting each  band's audience to 2 family members per student and will be clearing the auditorium in between concerts. 

 

Two tickets per student will be distributed in class to students whose families complete this form by no later than Friday March 26th as it includes the COVID-19 policy agreement for the event. Click here to request tickets and complete the Audience Participation Agreement.

AFTER PROM HELP NEEDED

Parent volunteers are needed to help plan and organize the band’s After Prom area.  This is a fun opportunity for anyone who loves to plan parties, decorate, be creative, or really any type of worker bee.  We already have a basic theme. We simply need a few more people to help bring it to life.  It promises to be a fun, low stress way to do something nice for our Seniors this year.  It is also a great opportunity to socialize with and get to know some other band parents.  If you are interested in helping with the planning process, please contact Kim Bishop at   secretary@masonbandboosters.com  We will also be in need of helpers the day of the event so please be on the lookout for a Sign-Up Genius that will be sent out in the near future.  In the meantime, you can mark April 30th on your calendar for After Prom.  Thank you!!

FINAL CONCERTS AND SENIOR AWARDS NIGHT

In order to accommodate our seniors who were slated to perform their last concert on April 27 the final concert for Concert Green & Silver, Concert White, and Concert Winds has been moved from Tuesday, April 27th to Monday, April 26. The final concert for Symphonic Band and Wind Symphony will remain on April 28th.  Seniors in those groups who were slated to receive awards on the 28th will be honored in the ceremony on April 27th in order to allow them to perform on April 28th.

MARCHING BAND 2021 

Thank you to all students and families that completed the Commitment Form for Marching Band 2021!  We are looking forward to a great season.   Please see the next two sections for important 2021 marching band updates.

SCHOOL FEES POSTED FOR 2021 STUDENTS

All 2021 Marching Band School Fees are posted in Charms.  Fee #1 ($350)  was due Friday; Fee #2 is due May 1; Fee #3 is due September 1.  School Fees are paid through EZPay or by check to Mason City Schools.  You can check your payment status anytime in Charms under the finance tab.   You are not behind if you see Fee #2 and #3 due in your account, the full year of school fees was posted for all students.  Consumable and Student Experience Fees due to the Boosters will be posted to student accounts in May.

SAVE THE DATE:  MARCHING BAND 2021 ONBOARDING APRIL 7TH 

Stay tuned, the full MB 2021 Registration Guide with the next steps in the process including access to Final Forms, Health and Wellness forms and Consumable Fee Calculator will be released right after spring break on April 5th.  

 

New Member Family On-Boarding and Registration Meeting:  April 7th at 7:00pm via Zoom  (Zoom Link will be shared along with the Registration Guide)
