GUARD, PERCUSSION, AND MOVEMENT CAMPS THIS PAST WEEK

This past week our band and color guard students worked hard in camps tailored for their specific groups.  A special thanks to Michael Rosales for working with our brass and woodwind students on their movement abilities!  The efforts everyone put forth this past week will give us a jump start for band camp in July. Please remember to keep moving and stay hydrated the next few weeks. It will make band camp that much easier and enjoyable later on this summer.

LEADERSHIP CAMP

Our Marching Band student leaders had a fantastic time this past Friday at Miami University!  The day was filled with fun and challenging team building activities designed to develop leadership skills. The student leaders proved themselves to be determined, hardworking, resilient, strong, focused, problem solvers, and good communicators/listeners.  More importantly they faced every challenge together while they both literally and figuratively lifted each other up.  They topped the day off with a special excursion where the ideas of dedication and camaraderie were reinforced.  After observing these young leaders in action on Friday, there is no doubt the Marching Band of 2021 is in good hands!

SEWING HELP NEEDED!

Do you have access to a sewing machine and can sew in a straight line?  Then you are needed for a project to help sew our 2021 Show props!

 

SEWING EVENT

 

Date: Sat, July 10th or Sun, July 11th (Likely All day)

 

Location: High School large or small commons (TBA)

 

Equipment Needed: Standard Sewing Machine & Scissors

 

Experience needed:  Basic sewing skills.  

 

We will set up tables as stations.  Each sewer will have their own table and chair.  Extension cords will be needed.

MARCHING BAND EXPERIENCE FEE DUE THIS WEEK

Reminder:   The Consumable Fee, due to Mason Band Boosters, is PAST due.  

 

The first Student Experience Fee ($325)  payable to Mason Band Boosters is due this Thursday, July 1st.  You may pay for both the Consumable fee and the Experience Fee via credit card on Charms.  You can learn more about how to pay the fees in the following link: How to Pay Band Fees.    Students must be in good financial standing to participate in Band Camp.  There will be a drive through financial check-in for all students on July 19th, the first day of Band Camp.

 

Please make sure your student’s PPE Physical is current in Final Forms by July 20th. If your student does not have a current physical on file by July 20th, they will not be able to participate.

ERROR MESSAGE WHEN PAYING FEES THROUGH CHARMS

It has been brought to our attention that some families are receiving a message stating “there was an error in your payment process” when attempting to pay fees through Charms.  Despite this error message, many of the payments have actually been processed.  If this happens to you, please contact treasurer-asst@masonbandboosters.com before you attempt to make another payment.  This will help ensure that you do not pay your fees twice.  Thank you for your patience while we try to troubleshoot this problem.

MARCHING BAND REMIND GROUPS

In addition to our weekly emails, there will be Remind groups available for this season, for each section of the band and parents within that section. These text updates will be used for rehearsal updates, changes due to weather, travel/arrival updates, and any other last minute information that is important.
