Band Camp Volunteers

Opportunities to volunteer during Band Camp are still available in Charms. Help is needed to assist during lunchtime and serving snacks!


Reminder: Parking Lot Safety!

Below are a few important notes about the parking lot, to ensure the safe drop off and pick up of students.


Vehicles are NOT PERMITTED in the BUS CIRCLE!

  • Please do not drop off, pick up, or park in the bus circle!

  • This is the marching band practice field - any vehicle traffic poses great danger.

The Parking lot traffic is ONE WAY at all times.

  • The music parking lot traffic flows one way, in a counterclockwise circle.

  • When you enter the parking lot from Foxfield Drive, bear to your right.

  • Parking is only permitted in marked spaces.


Drop off Instructions:

  • Pull up as far as possible between the Small Commons entrance and the Music Wing entrance to allow as many students as possible to safely unload at once.

  • Stay to the right for unloading, so that traffic can safely pass on your left.

  • Students should be ready to exit your vehicle.   If your student still needs to tie shoes, get their instrument etc., please pull up and park in a space.

Pick Up Instructions:

  • If your student is not at the curb ready to load, pull into a space to wait.

  • Pull up as far as possible to allow multiple cars to pick up at once.

  • Stay to the right for loading, so that traffic can safely pass on your left.


Remember that the parking lot is full of young drivers.  Please exercise additional care.


Season Kick-off Booster Meeting

Our 2019 Marching Band Season Kick-off Booster Meeting will be held on Tuesday, at 7:00 pm in the High School Large Commons. Please remember attendance is required by at least one parent or guardian from every marching band family.  Families are asked to bring a dessert to share. 


Dine and Donate: Wednesday

Everyone is invited to dine at City Barbeque, 7706 Voice of America Centre Drive, this Wednesday between 10:30 am and 10:00 pm. On this day, 25% of all purchases will be donated to the Mason Band Boosters - just show the attached flyer (located below - printed or electronic) when ordering!


Attention: All Seniors!

Please stay after camp THIS WEDNESDAY, 7/31!  We only need you for 20-30 minutes to take a couple of casual group shots.  Please bring your instruments/flags and we will meet in the Bus Circle at 5:10pm. 


Also, anyone who still needs to have their Senior Headshot taken, we will be doing them  THIS WEDNESDAY, 7/31 from 6:30-7:30pm starting in the Choir room.  You will need to change into your uniform beforehand.   Those of you who still need pictures should have been notified by Mrs. Hacker.  If you have any questions or aren’t sure if you had your picture taken, please send a message to Shannon Wielinga at



TAG Day is scheduled for this coming Saturday, August 3rd from 9:00am-2:00pm and is mandatory for all Band and Guard students.   We still need about 15 drivers.   Please take a moment to sign up in Charms if you have not yet volunteered.


Students will be signing up for their Teams on Tuesday at lunch.   

  • Chromebooks will be available in the Small Commons for sign ups.  

  •  All cars must have both upper and underclassmen in order to allow our newest members to learn from our veterans. 

  •  Please remind your students to look for the sign up table on Tuesday.   

  • If your student misses sign ups, they will have a second opportunity at the Booster meeting Tuesday evening.  Anyone who does not sign up on Tuesday will be placed in a car with an open spot.


Important Information for TAG Day…


What to Wear:  

         Band: Summer Uniform - black shorts, black belt, black shoes, green polo

         Guard: Mr. Green will announce this week


What to Bring:

    Water Bottle

    A great attitude


TAG Day Schedule

9:00 - Students and Drivers arrive at Small Commons

9:30 - Students will leave MHS with their adult driver and head out to their assigned neighborhood 

10:00 - 1:30 - Student teams will canvas their assigned neighborhood soliciting donations

  • Teams that collect over $1000 will win a prize

  • The Team that has the highest number of donations - regardless of amount collected will win a prize

  • The team that has the highest score on the TAG Day Social Media Scavenger Hunt  will win a prize

1:30 - 2:00 - Teams return to MHS Small Commons, turn in their donations and collect a grab and go

A few other items…

  • Donors who give $100 or more are recognized on our Donor Boards posted outside all Band events

  • If you have kiddos in multiple cars and want all donations to be combined toward a $100+ total - please ask your children to type your name into the Google Form so we can add up the totals.

Message from the Uniform Crew 


Band Students:

All sophomores and juniors who have not made other arrangements with the Uniform Crew should have already had their fittings for their Classic Dress Uniforms! 


Summer Uniform pieces will be distributed this week.  Look for a Remind Message or email for details.


Freshmen and New Marchers- Sign Ups for your Uniform Fittings are in Charms now!  Every Freshman and New Marcher needs to sign up in Charms for a 30 minute time slot to be fitted for your Classic Dress Uniform.  In Charms go to the Volunteer tab, look for 'Student Uniform Fitting Freshmen and New Marcher' and select a time slot.  The dates are 7/31 and 8/2 after band camp and 8/3 after Tag Day.  This uniform is separate from your summer uniform, and in addition to the competition jacket you were measured for in May!!


Seniors - if you haven't already done so, please drop in during one of the freshmen fitting times and drop off your shoes and socks, check your shako, and get your gauntlets and gloves.


Grippy Gloves for those moving props will be available in a few weeks.

Lincoln Nautilus Car Raffle

Raffle tickets will be sold July through October 12th with the actual raffle taking place at the Mason Invitational.  You can review all the details on our website at


Each family is encouraged to sell tickets to friends, neighbors and co-workers.  Stay tuned for details on how to obtain your tickets.
