JAZZ 1 AUDITIONS
Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 2:30-5:00 in the band room. Audition will consist of any of the provided scales and a chromatic scale from the student's lowest to highest capability for assessment of range, provided audition music found on Schoology, and demonstration of the student's improvisation abilities. Improvisation will be demonstrated on a 12 bar blues in Eb. Auditions will last approximately 5 minutes. Please refer to Mr. Jackson’s previous communication to the students via Schoology. There, students will be able to sign up for an audition time, obtain audition materials, and find answers to many questions regarding Jazz Band 1.
JAZZ 2 AUDITIONS FOR SELECT INSTRUMENTS
Only students wishing to play bass, guitar, piano, or drum set need to audition for Jazz 2. Auditions will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 from 2:30 to 5:00. This is necessary so that we can assess the student's ability to prepare music with the ensemble on a solo instrument. Please refer to Mr. Jackson’s previous communication to the students via Schoology. There, students will be able to sign up for an audition time, obtain audition materials, and find answers to many questions regarding Jazz Band 2.
