Toronto Trip Payment Reminder

The Final Toronto trip payment was due last week.  Please ensure your account is in good-standing by completing all trip payments this week.   

 

 

Wind Symphony/Symphonic Band Required Toronto Document Drop-Off / Medication In-Take Events

All students traveling to Toronto are required to have their parent/guardian attend one travel document event to drop-off their travel documents.  Please sign-up for one slot in Charms.   Travel documents include:  

 

US Students:  

  • 2 copies of the student's birth certificate 
  • Copy of passport (if available), and 
  • Notarized Consent to Travel signed by parents (emailed to families this week).  

International Students:  

  • 2 copies of the student's passport/residency authorization, 
  • Copy of birth certificate (if available), and 
  • Notarized Consent to Travel letter signed by parents (emailed to families this week)

The Consent to Travel letter is being reviewed now and will be emailed to families as soon as possible.  Families may have the Consent to Travel notarized on their own, or we will have notary donating their time this Thursday.   If you plan to have the Consent to Travel notarized on-site, parents must bring their photo ID and sign in the presence of the notary.

 

Medication Drop-off for Toronto will be also be available.  If you wish to drop off medication, you must sign up for BOTH a Document Drop-Off and a Medication Drop off slot to do both.   Click Here for specific medication management instructions.  All forms and medication turned in for the 2019 Marching Band season are still valid for this trip.

Wind Symphony CCM Trip 2/7

We are looking for 2 additional chaperones to travel with the Wind Symphony 2/7.  Report time is after school at 2:30 for their 3:30 departure time. To volunteer please  email travel@masonbandboosters.com

Summer Marching Band dates have been confirmed! A more detailed schedule with exact times will be released in February.

 

Mini Camp = June 1 - June 6

Guard Camp = June 15 - June 19

Percussion Camp = June 15 - June 19

Leadership Retreat = July 13

PreCamp Rehearsals = July 14 - July 16

Band Camp Week 1 = July 20 - July 25

Band Camp Week 2 = July 27 - August 1

Post Camp Rehearsals = August 4, 5, 6, 7, 10, 11

 

Mrs. Bass: OMEA Distinguished Service Award

Retired Mason Band Director, Mrs. Susan Bass, was recently selected as the 2020 Ohio Music Education Association "Distinguished Service Award." This is the highest award given by OMEA to music educators in the state. The award is given to an outstanding music educator that has "has made a significant difference in the lives of others through distinguished leadership as a music educator." She was nominated by Mr. Hinson, with many band directors from around the country writing letters of support to a committee that selected Mrs. Bass from the many educators that were nominated. 

 

The Award will be presented to Mrs. Bass at the OMEA Professional Development Conference on Friday, January 31 at 7:30 pm in the Convention Center Grand Ballroom B (Duke Energy Convention Center: 525 Elm St, Cincinnati, OH 45202). This is just prior to the All-State Band concert at 8:00 PM in the same room, for those students performing in this ensemble. There is no admission fee to the concert or awards presentation for anyone that would like to attend.
