Payment Reminder

The Final Toronto trip payment was due three weeks ago.  Please ensure your account is in good-standing.

Time to Explore Toronto Data/Text/Cell Options

Now is the time to explore International data, text and cell phone plan options for Canadian coverage and make a plan with your student.   Your existing plan may include coverage in Canada; many do not. If your plan does not include Canada, you could accrue significant charges for text, data and calls without upfront planning.   Our hotel has free wifi coverage and we will share adult contact information that can be used to reach the group while traveling. While touring, we will be using smaller chaperone groups with old-fashion check-ins that will include our traditional messages, but will not be tech dependent.   Students are not required to have cell/data service during the trip. That is an individual family decision.

Final Toronto Document Drop-Off / Medication In-Take Event

As a reminder, all students traveling to Toronto are required to have their parent/guardian attend one travel document event to drop-off their travel documents.  If you have not attended, you must sign-up for a slot in Charms or contact me prior to the final event to make alternative arrangements to review your documents.   The roster will be final 2/7 with those students who have submitted the appropriate travel documents.   Travel documents include:

US Students:

  • 2 copies of the student's birth certificate
  • Copy of passport (if available), and
  • Notarized Consent to Travel signed by parents (distributed to families last week).

International Students:

  • 2 copies of the student's passport/residency authorization,
  • Copy of birth certificate (if available), and distributed to families this week)
  • Notarized Consent to Travel signed by parents (distributed to families last week).

Families may have the Consent to Travel notarized on their own, or we will have Notaries generously donating their time at the final in-take event.   If you plan to have the Consent to Travel notarized on-site, parents must bring their photo ID and sign in the presence of the notary.

Medication Drop-off for Toronto will be also be available.  If you wish to drop off medication, you must sign up for both a Document Drop-Off and a Medication Drop off slot to do both.   Click Here for specific medication management instructions.  All forms and medication turned in for the 2019 Marching Band season are still valid for this trip.

Skills Guard Starts this Week

The Skills Guard (G3) is a great introduction to Color Guard and allows a new color guard student to try out the activity and build their skills.  If they choose to audition for fall they improve their chances to make the team. Veteran students will be able to improve their skills for fall color guard while having time to participate in other activities.  Previous Fall guard students that would like to return for Fall 2020 are required to participate in The Skills Guard at a minimum.

The first rehearsal is this Thursday, February 6th and continues for 7 weeks until March 20th.  The Skills Guard (G3) will also perform at the Winter Guard Preview on Friday, March 20th from 7-8p.

  • Rehearsals are Thursdays after school from 2:45p-5pm at MMS Large commons.  The last rehearsal is March 20th prior to the WG Preview. G3 Students and Parents should refer to the WG Calendar for variations and any schedule changes.
  • The Skills Guard fee is $100 and can be paid by Ezpay or check to MCS and includes instruction only.  Flags will be provided for rehearsal.
  • Equipment including practice flags for home, rifles and gloves are an extra cost and will need to be ordered by 2/7/2020.

 How to Register

  1. Click this google form link and complete the form:
