Thank you to all of our students and their families for your generous support of the Mason Food Pantry. Together we raised approximately $1600! This money will go a very long way towards helping those in need in our community. 

 

Tag Day: Friends & Family Campaign

Thanks to all of you--students, parents, staff, and the Mason community--Tag Day 2019  was an overwhelming success!  On Tag Day, we raised just over $33,500 for our organization.   Now,  we are "tagging" those people outside of our immediate Mason Band family to participate in our Friends & Family Campaign.  

 

The idea is to "tag" our closest friends and family members who live outside the Mason area, but who would like to participate in Tag Day by supporting our band program.  Please click this link for a customizable letter and/or email that you are encouraged to customize and have your student send to family and friends during the month of August--Tag "Month"!   Last year we raised over $200 additional dollars in our online campaign.  We are challenging the students to double that this year.   If they are able to do that, we will bring a special treat to one of their Saturday Practices!

 

Please help your kids brainstorm the names of family members and close friends who would appreciate being "tagged" by receiving one of the letters.  Maybe your list includes Mason Band alumni and/or their families...they would certainly appreciate still being considered a part of our band family and may love the opportunity to support the program!

Marching Band Travel Update--9/28/19 Buckeye Invitational 

As was announced at the Parent Meeting, Mason will be participating in the Buckeye Invitational at Ohio State on September 28th in place of the former BOA Regional on our calendar (the BOA Regional moved).    Our tentative performance time in the historical Ohio Stadium is 8:30pm.  This competition is sponsored by the Ohio Music Education Association (OMEA) and will feature The Ohio State Marching Band as results are tallied.    The Band will return to MHS after the competition.   

 

Some have asked if this has any impact on the band's participation in BOA's Grand Nationals and the short answer is:  No.   Mason is registered and all systems are go for BOA Grand Nationals in November.   Playing at Ohio Stadium is a great performance opportunity for our students in a world-class facility.    

 

Families should still anticipated a full day on 9/28.  The final schedule will be released closer to the trip, but students should plan on rehearsal at MHS during the day before they travel by motor coach to Columbus.  We will be feeding students dinner before the competition and having snacks on the way home from Columbus.    Parents can complete a travel waiver a week before the trip if they wish to pick up their student in Columbus after the competition.

Last chance to order black shorts for summer uniforms! Place your order in Charms NOW!! Final order will be placed Monday 8/12!

Marching shoes order will be placed 8/17! If you haven’t ordered your marching shoes yet, please order in Charms ASAP!!

 

Makeup Uniform Fittings are Wednesday and Thursday after rehearsal! If you haven’t had yours yet PLEASE sign up for a fitting time in Charms!!

Test Drive a Lincoln 

Lincoln of Cincinnati will make a donation for each person who test drives a Lincoln model vehicle on Saturday, Sept 7th from 8:30am - 2:00pm at Mason Middle School.  A quick drive around campus, such an easy fundraisers!  Our goal is 175 test drives to maximize the donation.  Sign up at https://www.signupgenius.com/go/70a0d45a4ad2-test

Donation Needed

The color guard's mini fridge is no longer working.  If anyone has a small refrigerator that their college student is perhaps no longer using and it could be rehomed, please email colorguard@masonbandboosters.com.  Thank you for your consideration.

 

M Dress Donation Drive

We are in need of M Dress donations so the Color Guard can keep looking their best for Home games.  If your past or current band student has an M dress from their participation in Fall or Winter Guard and you would be willing to donate it, we will happily accept!  

 

Donations will be accepted in the collection box at the following locations:

  • Band aid table during any band practice

  • Band Directors office.

Seniors and Senior Parents!

We hope you enjoyed the Senior Video during the Variety Show!  Thank you, parents, grandparents, guardians and Directors for helping to make this video very special!  We want to give extra special “Thanks” to Heather Stacy for her help in the technical aspects of gathering all of the info and photos and extra special “Thanks” to Kevin and Shannon Doll for putting it all together and for the addition of the awesome footage of the Directors at the end!

Lincoln Nautilus Car Raffle 

Tickets may be purchased online at  https://form.jotform.com/Masonbands/LincolnRaffle  Each family is encouraged to sell tickets to friends, neighbors and co-workers. Please share the link.

2018 Vinyl Prop Cover 

Last opportunity to purchase a part of history!  The 2018 Eye of Horus prop cover is available for  purchase online in Charms shopping cart for $25.  It will be available through Friday, Aug. 16th.
