REHEARSAL SCHEDULE FOR THIS WEEK

Rehearsal this upcoming week will be from 1pm to 9pm on Monday and Tuesday.  Saturday will be from 9am to 5pm. Saturday there will be a parent preview at 4:45 pm in the stadium. *Please note this is a change from earlier this week. Please join us so you can see the results of all of the hard work the kids have put in the past few weeks.

 

Schedule Breakdown Monday and Tuesday:

1:00 pm-4:30 pm Rehearsal

4:30 pm-5:30 pm Dinner Break

5:30 pm-9:00 pm Rehearsal

 

Shedule Breakdown Saturday:

9:00 am-12:00  pm Rehearsal

12:00 pm-12:45 pm Lunch

12:45 pm-4:45 pm Rehearsal

4:45 pm-5:00 pm Parent Preview in the Stadium

 

Dinner/lunch is not provided. Students should pack or plan on having food dropped off.

Students are not permitted to leave campus during the break.

VIDEO/SOCIAL MEDIA REMINDER

We are so proud of the marching band’s hard work at band camp! As a reminder, please do not post any videos of the band on public websites (YouTube) or social media (Facebook, Twitter, etc) at this time. This also includes pictures of the props and competition uniforms. This is particularly important for our competition show in order to maintain competitive integrity and for copyright reasons. We want the audience and judges to see our show for the first time at competitions, so that they can enjoy the hard work of our students in a live setting. You are more than welcome to capture your own videos and share with family using a “private” link or message.

SPIRIT UPDATES/TOUR SHIRTS

2021 TOUR SHIRTS are available for sale online Now through August 12th:

https://www.fridaythreads.com/store/mason-band-spirit-wear.  All students receive one short sleeve tour shirt as part of their consumable fee so you do not need to order a shirt for your student. The online form offers the design on dri-fit, long sleeve and crewneck.  You may also use this form to order extra shirts for your students, for yourself, friends and family.  This will be the ONLY opportunity to order the official 2021 William Mason High School Marching Band Tour Shirt, so please take a moment to order now before the deadline on August 12th.  The shirts that you order online will ship out/be available for pick up in store the day or day after delivery to the students depending on when the students receive their shirts. ETA for delivery is late August/early September.  A special note to our new band families to let you know that the design on this order form is generic, the color shown will be the color of the shirt you receive; however, per tradition, the actual design is kept secret until the students receive their shirts.  The staff does a great job designing these show theme shirts every year so you won't be disappointed! 

 

SEEKING ARTISTS: if you are artistic, can paint and will have some time in mid to late August to volunteer, please contact Spirit. We have a fun, special secret project we need help with.  Intrigued??? You should be because we are so excited about it!  Send us an email: spirit@masonbandboosters.com if you would like to help and we will give you more details.  

 

SPIRIT ITEMS WILL BE ON SALE before and after the Parent Preview THIS SATURDAY, 8/14/21.  Please be sure to stop by the booth that will be set up near the performance area.

 

MASON BAND SWAG: Order your Mason Band Spirit gear online. 

  • Shirts, hats, shorts and other wearables from our local vendor partner Friday Threads: https://www.fridaythreads.com/store/mason-band-spirit-wear. Many items have several color, format and customization options including sparkle so be sure to click on the items to see additional options for each. These items are made custom to order with a standard turn around time of 2 weeks. With that being said, please know that availability of some colors, brands or styles could be impacted due to remaining effects of Covid on the supply chain.  Friday Threads will provide you with options for items with better availability should the need arise and we will work with them to adjust the items available from the online store if required.

SAVE THE DATE! FAMILY SHOWCASE/SENIOR NIGHT

We are pleased to announce that we will be having a Family Showcase/Senior Night event EXCLUSIVELY for Mason Marching Band families, alumni and guests the evening of Friday, October 1st.  Please mark the date on your calendars!  Last year was the first time we hosted our own Showcase and Senior Night just for band families, past and present, and it turned out to be a really wonderful and casual event to celebrate our Band and especially, our Seniors!  Exact times and details will be communicated at a later date, but we wanted to communicate the date so you can plan ahead as you don't want to miss this!  The event is also now on the Band calendar and if you haven't subscribed to the calendar yet, we recommend you to do so to keep up to date on all of the Band rehearsals and events.  Instructions for subscribing to the Band calendar can be found by clicking HERE.

TAGDAY FINAL UPDATE:

Thank you to everyone who sent out friends and families emails.  Our final fundraising total is $23,617.  Wow!!  Thank you to all who participated!

Most Spirited Section in the Social Media Challenge:  It's a Tie!!  Congratulations to the Guard and the Sousaphones!  You went all out and shared our story and helped bring in donations!  You can look forward to popsicles on Tuesday!

Alumni Challenge:  Our most recent graduates from the 2010’s were our biggest supporters!  So thankful for these Gen. Z Philanthropists who continue to support our band in so many ways. 

 

Laptop Sticker: Every marcher will receive a laptop sticker since we met a collective goal of more than $50 per student. :)

 

Invitational Tickets for those who donated 50 dollars or more will be available for pick-up towards the beginning of September - more information will be shared in the coming weeks.

Our next Dine and Donate will be Wednesday, August 18th between 5:00pm and 9:00pm at Chipotle Mason Montgomery.

Our talented photo committee has been working hard to capture wonderful memories of our student events & activities. Check out our Smug Mug site HERE where you can download photos for free and order prints/buttons/etc. Photos are being added regularly. Here are direct links to folders from recent events. STUDENT EXPERIENCE FEE #2 PAST DUE

Reminder:   The second Marching Band Student Experience Fee is PAST DUE .  The next in person Financial Check-In is Tuesday prior to the start of rehearsal.  Students must be in good financial standing to participate in rehearsal.

 

This fee is payable to Mason Band Boosters. 

You may pay for both the Consumable fee and the Experience Fees via credit card on Charms or bring a check with you to Band Camp and put it in the Band Dop Box. You can learn more about how to pay the fees in the following link: How to Pay Band Fees.

BAND AID / CHAPERONE MENTAL HEALTH TRAINING 

Online QPR Training---If you missed the QPR training, our training partner 1N5 is offering several free QPR training sessions online in August and September.   All Band Aids are required to have suicide prevention training and all chaperones and other interested adults are welcome to register directly with IN5 for this training.  Participation is limited to 25 per session and is open to all adults in the community.   To sign-up, please go to their website:  1N5 Online QPR Training  If you have any questions about the training, please contact Mindy, Travel@Masonbandboosters.com
