MARCHING BAND REMIND GROUPS
In addition to our weekly emails, there will be Remind groups available for this season, for each section of the band and parents within that section. There are groups for the students (used daily for schedules, directions) and parent groups (used less often, mainly for performance updates/reminders). These text updates will be used for rehearsal updates, changes due to weather, travel/arrival updates, and any other last minute information that is important. These groups are especially important for last minute performance updates/changes (like this week's football game rain cancellation).

SCHOOL FEE #3 DUE THIS WEDNESDAY
Reminder: The FINAL Marching Band School Fee of $250 is DUE THIS WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 1.
This fee is payable to Mason City Schools and can be paid via EZ pay (preferred) or via Check dropped in the Band Drop Box. You can learn more about how to pay the fees in the following link: How to Pay Band Fees.
Please help us manage our program efficiently by paying your fees on time. Students who are not in good financial standing in September will not be able to participate or sign-up for their travel bus seating 9/11.

A special thank you to our amazing Uniform Crew and additional volunteers who spent many hours on Saturday ironing each and every marching band member’s uniform. You are an amazing group of people who go above and beyond to ensure each musician looks their absolute best out on the field. Your care and attention to detail is very much appreciated! FIRST ANNUAL MASON BANDS FALL MUM SALE!
Our first annual Mason Band fall Mum sale is underway! This Sale benefits students in all band classes in Grades 6-12 with music purchases, classroom items, guest clinicians to work with our students, and more! Please be sure to share the details with your friends and family! ORDER HERE!
Ordering Window closes THIS TUESDAY, so don’t delay!
Those that purchase items have two options for delivery:
1) Select a Band Family to deliver to them. Ask your friends and family that you wish to offer this option, to put your student’s name in the “which band family referred you?” question. You will then pick up these orders and deliver them to anyone who selects this option.
2) Delivered DIRECTLY to the address provided on September 10th or 11th for a $15 service charge - Mason, Ohio area only.
Band families should plan to pick up any flowers ordered in support of their student on Friday, September 10th from 5:30pm - 8:00pm at the Middle School Performance Entrance. There will also be an opportunity to pickup on Saturday morning 9/11 from 10-12 during the driven to give event as well. We ask that you deliver them to the friends and family who helped to support our band that weekend. Flowers can also be directly delivered for a $15 fee. We appreciate your support of our band program!
DRIVEN TO GIVE SIGN-UPS START TOMORROW, 8/30!
Please check your email tomorrow for information on signing up for our Driven to Give event that will be held from 9am-4pm on Saturday, September 11, 2021. We are just asking for 15-20 minutes of your time on that day to come test drive a couple of fabulous luxury vehicles, fill out a post-test drive survey and the Band will get $30 per test drive (1 per household). There will be a virtual option for those who cannot attend in person and the Band will get $15 for those. Maximum fundraising potential for this event is $8000 so mark your calendars! We need every family to participate!
HELP US SELL CAR RAFFLE TICKETS!
We are once again partnering with our wonderful sponsor, Lincoln of Cincinnati, to feature a Grand Prize of a 2021 Lincoln Nautilus AWD Reserve SUV! This fundraiser is a very important one for our organization as it helps provide some much needed funds to help with the expenses of our programs as well as allows us to reach outside of our band family and community to help raise funds! WE NEED EACH AND EVERY FAMILY TO HELP REACH OUR GOAL OF SELLING 3000 TICKETS AND TO GIVE AWAY A FABULOUS VEHICLE OR A CASH PRIZE!
Ticket Drop off/Pick up events this week will be:

DISTRICT TAILGATE THIS FRIDAY!
Join the Spirit Committee before the game this Friday, September 3rd from 4:30pm to 6:30pm for the District Tailgate which is held in the rear middle school parking lot. This is a fun family event for everyone. There will be booths with food, games, giveaways and vendors. Stop by our band booth to play the Top Gun Flight School Game, get your photo taken in our fun new photo prop and see the 2021 Lincoln Nautilus we are raffling this year. You are not going to want to miss this fun event!

HOME FOOTBALL GAME VS COLERAIN THIS WEEK!
Thank you to everyone's flexibility with the rainy weather this weekend. We are hoping to perform on schedule this Friday as the Comets take on Colerain. Students will wear Summer Uniforms. They should bring their summer uniform with them to school so they can change into it prior to the game (see schedule below).
Dinner this Friday is provided by the boosters and will include Cheese Pizza and Salad Bar. Students with dietary needs will be fed via Pizza options and salad choices. If you have a special dietary need and and have questions, please email Mindy at Travel@Masonbandboosters.com
A reminder to our new families, tickets are required for anyone who wishes to enter the stadium to watch the game (and the band’s pregame and half-time performances).

Despite Friday being a stormy evening and the band unable to perform, the kids were still able to enjoy a yummy meal from our long-time sponsor, McDonald’s. Not only does McDonald’s help feed the band from time to time, but they also contribute funds to help with such things as our band website. The students really liked their new Crispy Chicken sandwich! We appreciate their support and commitment to our band program! Thank you McDonald’s for your continued investment in our marching band kids!
SAVE THE DATE: HERITAGE FESTIVAL PARADE IS BACK 9/18
Saturday, September 18th the Marching Band will participate in Mason’s Heritage Day Parade! For planning, students should anticipate on a 9-5pm day with the band. The parade starts at 10am in Downtown Mason and continues toward the Mason Municipal Center. There is parade viewing along the route and parade entries do a brief presentation at the Municipal Center. Please plan to come out and enjoy the return of the community parade.
Immediately following the parade, the band will stage their annual group panorama photo and section photos up at the stadium. Parents will have an opportunity to order these photos - look for details to be shared soon! Students will stay on campus for lunch (BYO) and then rehearse in the afternoon until 5pm.
The combined Heritage Day and Red Rhythm and Boom event will be active and busy on the high school campus 9/18. The Red Rhythm and Boom food vendors and activities open at 4pm with free headliner performances from Craig Campbell at 6pm and Clint Black at 8:30pm.
SAVE THE DATE! FAMILY SHOWCASE/SENIOR NIGHT
We are pleased to announce that we will be having a Family Showcase/Senior Night event EXCLUSIVELY for Mason Marching Band families, alumni and guests the evening of Friday, October 1st. Please mark the date on your calendars! Last year was the first time we hosted our own Showcase and Senior Night just for band families, past and present, and it turned out to be a really wonderful and casual event to celebrate our Band and especially, our Seniors! Exact times and details will be communicated at a later date, but we wanted to communicate the date so you can plan ahead as you don't want to miss this! The event is also now on the Band calendar and if you haven't subscribed to the calendar yet, we recommend you to do so to keep up to date on all of the Band rehearsals and events. INDIVIDUAL STUDENT PORTRAITS - SIGN UP COMING SOON
Each year we offer professional individual portraits for our Marching Band students. This year, portraits will be taken on Wed Sept 22nd and Wed Sept 29th from 3:15-8:00 pm. You will have the opportunity to order a portrait package, digital images, and buttons. Appointments will be available for those interested in purchasing a package. Further details will be shared soon.
PLEASE KEEP STUDENT PHYSICALS CURRENT ALL SEASON
If your student’s physical expires in Final Forms, they will not be able to participate. Please pay attention and act when you receive notifications from Final Forms as well as our Registration Coordinator, Jennifer Weaver. We are having to invest significant time to track down students and families not keeping up with their physicals. If your physical expires during the season, your student is not able to participate in Marching Band rehearsals, football games, or events until a current physical with clearance to participate is uploaded. Make sure to download the PPE physician form prior to your student’s annual well check or if you need to get one done quickly, there are several options nearby such as Kroger Little Clinic, CVS Minute Clinic, etc. Remember after the physical, you must upload the new physical to Final Forms.
DINE AND DONATE UPDATE...
Thank you to all who supported the band at our August Chipotle Dine and Donate. The band earned just over $130 in a few hours. Our next Dine and Donate will be at Culver’s on Tylersville on 9/22. It is valid all day they are open, 10am-10:30pm. The band will get 10% back of any band-related sales. This flyer can be handed out in advance to friends, neighbors, etc., they don’t have to be with the band, anyone can use it as long as we don’t pass it out on Culvers premises. We get credit by either bringing in the flyer or also by just mentioning the band fundraiser to the cashier (flyer isn’t required). Dine in, drive thru, carry out all count.
