Band Camp

During the summer months the band camp web page is the best source for band camp information.  This webpage includes: forms for download, handbooks for download, general information and instructions.

Parents and caregivers are encouraged to provide help at Band Camp.  Most of the help is needed with prepping snacks, setting out lunches/dinners and light clean up.  We are also in need of chaperones at several of the social events.  Please check Charms for sign ups.

There is another opportunity for fittings on Sunday, July 30 from 1:00pm-6:00pm.

Shoe and shirt order forms will be accepted tomorrow, Monday, July 24 and can be placed in the drop box outside the director's office. Shoe and shirt orders are being placed this Tuesday the 25th.

Food Truck Rally and Booster Meeting

Please join us this Tuesday for our first ever Food Truck Rally! Various food trucks will be set up in the bus circle, and will be serving food from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm. Some will accept credit/debit cards, all will accept cash.

We ask that you bring lawn chairs and picnic blankets, and be prepared to mingle and meet  new and returning families.  Since this is a private event, we encourage all students and their families to patronize the food truck vendors. Please keep in mind that limited beverages will be available for purchase, and you are welcome to bring your own drinks.

Our season kick-off Booster Meeting will immediately follow the Food Truck Rally. It is expected that at least one parent or guardian per marching band family attend.

Lastly, if you ordered a yard sign earlier this summer, they will be available for pick up at the Spirit Committee table. There are a limited number of extra signs available for purchase by cash or check!

We look forward to seeing everyone on Tuesday!

This Saturday is TAG Day! It will be held from 9:30 am to 2:30 pm, and is mandatory for all Band and Guard students.

In order for the event to run smoothly, we need many parent volunteers to help on TAG Day. If you are able and willing to help out, please go to Charms, read the directions carefully, and sign up.

Thanks so much for all you do!

New Process for Typical OTC Medication

We have made an important change for typical OTC medications (acetaminophen and ibuprofen) for our students. These two OTC medications will be provided centrally for any student for whom a completed DMS form is on file. Parents can send the DMS form electronically or drop off to a Band Aid since you no longer need to provide the actual medication. In addition, we will be accepting DMS forms at Tuesday’s Booster Meeting. We encourage parents to submit a DMS for one or both of these medications if your student has needed these medications at home. Please help us take the best care of your students and consider what they may need to feel the best throughout the season.

Please Contact Lisa Oldham at with any questions or to submit a DMS for your student to have access to our centrally provided OTC medication. You will find the form on the Mason Bands Website here:

Reminder: Parking Lot Safety!

We wanted to pass along a few important notes about the parking lot, to ensure the safe drop off and pick up of students.

Vehicles are NOT PERMITTED in the BUS CIRCLE!

  • Please do not drop off, pick up, or park in the bus circle!

  • This is the marching band practice field - any vehicle traffic poses great danger.

The Parking lot traffic is ONE WAY at all times.

  • The music parking lot traffic flows one way, in a counterclockwise circle.

  • When you enter the parking lot from Foxfield Drive, bear to your right.

  • Parking is only permitted in marked spaces.

Drop off Instructions:

  • Pull up as far as possible between the Small Commons entrance and the Music Wing entrance to allow as many students as possible to safely unload at once.

  • Stay to the right for unloading, so that traffic can safely pass on your left.

  • Students should be ready to exit your vehicle.   If your student still needs to tie shoes, get their instrument etc., please pull up and park in a space.

Pick Up Instructions:

  • If your student is not at the curb ready to load, pull into a space to wait.

  • Pull up as far as possible to allow multiple cars to pick up at once.

  • Stay to the right for loading, so that traffic can safely pass on your left.

Remember that the parking lot is full of young drivers.  Please exercise additional care.
