Each of the two concert bands are entry level bands of similar ability level. These bands meet for two trimesters of the school year during the second and third trimesters. Most 9th grade students will play in one of these bands, but enrollment is not limited to 9th grade students. The focus of Concert Bands Green and White is on the fundamentals of playing musical instruments and building ensemble playing skills. Each of these bands will perform two concerts during the school year and may participate in OMEA adjudicated events. Participation in one of these concert bands fulfills the prerequisite for participation in extra-curricular and co-curricular activities such as marching band, jazz band, and winter percussion. Students in all of the concert bands are part of the basketball pep band which requires attendance at two basketball games of the students’ choosing during the basketball season.
